OUR STORY
Archer was a beautiful 16 year old teenager who struggled with his mental health. On July 13th, 2018, tragedy struck our community when a young man and varsity lacrosse player lost his life as result of a mental health crisis.
He was taken from us far too early. Archer was caring, vibrant and energetic. He was a son, brother, and friend who never shied away from encouraging others and being a bright light for someone in need. Archer's Aim represents hope for our youth who struggle, but can't find a way to talk about their mental health. A12 represents understanding and acceptance for those in need and peace for those who have lost a close friend or family member.
Many of our youth, or better stated our future, struggle with their mental health. Teenagers and adolescents battle with mental health issues such as anger, depression, anxiety, and body image. This often times results in finding escapes in all the wrong places. In most cases they find themselves confused and wondering "why do I feel like this?" Just like physical illnesses, mental health issues do get better, and there are things that can be done to help.
Archers Aim is promoting the fact that asking for help is showing strength. Furthermore, Archer's Aim looks to better educate students, coaches, and families about how to better recognize and assist athletes that may be entering or be in the midst of a mental health battle.
